The second CAARE Partner Meeting took place in the beautiful city of Leiden, hosted by our partners at Leiden University Medical Center (LUMC). It was an inspiring few days filled with collaboration, learning, and great company — all set against the charming backdrop of one of Europe’s oldest university towns.
We extend our warm thanks to LUMC for their outstanding hospitality, the stimulating discussions, and — of course — the fantastic food that made this gathering even more memorable!
🎓 Training and Knowledge Exchange
Our doctoral candidates didn’t just attend the partner meeting — they also took part in their first official CAARE training sessions, marking an exciting milestone in their research journey.
🔬 Hands-on Mass Spectrometry Training
Led by Elena Dominguez Vega, this two-day workshop provided participants with practical skills and a deeper understanding of analytical techniques essential for bioprocess characterization and viral vector analysis.
🗣️ Presentation Skills Workshop
A lively and interactive session with Wolfgang Kainz, helping our early-stage researchers sharpen their communication skills. A big thank you also goes to Wolfgang for capturing the wonderful moments on camera!
🚀 Growing Together
The meeting concluded with impressive presentations from our doctoral candidates, showcasing their progress, creativity, and scientific curiosity. It’s clear that the CAARE consortium is growing into a strong, motivated, and collaborative team — ready to advance research in viral gene therapy vectors and vaccines.
We look forward to seeing what’s next for our young researchers as they continue their journey within the MSCA Doctoral Network CAARE.
